Change your thoughts about money

When it comes to growing your wealth, it starts with your inner thoughts about money. We have been programmed with negative thoughts about money. I bet you have heard phrases like:

  • “money is the root of all evil
  • rich people are greedy
  • you can’t be rich and spiritual
  • the rich get richer and the poor get poorer
  • we can’t afford it”
  • and the infamous,

  • “am I made of money”?
  • to which I respond jokingly, ” I wish, I would take an arm, a hand, even a finger” says T. Harv Eker in his book,Secrets of the Millionaire Mind: Mastering the Inner Game of Wealth.

With these thoughts, no wonder why millions of people remain in poverty. They start to believe that only the
super intelligent or those that inherit wealth are the few that the good life belongs to. Don’t fall into this trap. The amount of money you can amass heavily depends on your thoughts about money. So, why have negative thoughts? Negative thoughts don’t help you in any situation. Think positively and your results will be positive. By thinking positively, you can start to reverse this programming of your mind.

You may win that argument but you still won’t be rich

But to change any behavior you first have to admit it. To admit a behavior, you first have to be aware of it. To be aware of a behavior, it sometimes takes another person to point it out. But generally when people point out something about us that might lightly touch on our ego, we get defensive and try to argue that they are wrong rather than thinking about what they have said about us then use it to improve ourselves by objectively assessing our selves. Don’t get defensive, it doesn’t help you and it makes others uncomfortable. Forget your ego for a little bit and try to see what the other person is really saying and how it could help you.

What the rich say about their success

One thing I do very often is talk to rich people about how they got where they are. They are always eager to share pertinent information with me. This is because I take particular interest in them and by doing so, they help me by telling me about their success map. Their success map could lead to my success. Generally, they are proud when talking about themselves, and rightly so because they have worked hard and are enjoying the fruits of their labor. They sometimes make comments about poor people and why they are poor and ninety nine percent of them say the difference is in their thoughts about money. Their thoughts become their actions and their actions yield them results.

Believe in the goodness of others

People are not always out to get you or make fun of you. Our egos are just to big for us to get the true message behind a comment another person might make. But in order to improve your life and better yourself, you have to learn to see beyond the face value of things. See beyond by assessing your root thoughts about money and perhaps you will see why you are where you are. Those we succeed in accumulating wealth are not smarter than you, they just think differently. So, change your thinking and change your future. Be positive, optimistic, realistic ambitious in every part of your life. Be fruitful, live abundantly and multiply your wealth. Agree, disagree and why? You won’t offend anyone here so don’t be shy!
