Poem: Alive

by Tata| 1 Comment

I dove into his soul
and came out with a dead baby
reaking with sorrow of a timeless past
and existing on the limbs of gravity
unable to be saved by the melody of the future

He cannot let go of what had been
he swims deep into his memories
reliving all of them by the expressions on his face
and the more he dives, the more he is consumed
by what is no longer there

Hold on his heart says
hold on to this pain, it consoles me
this pain is all I know and I am
it quenches the drieness of my soul
and the water also nourishes my body yet-
eat my insides away.
